YouTube Triumphs German Appeal Over Artists’ Fees
A German court has given Google another legal success over German performing rights organisation Gema, which had sought to earn the business’s video-sharing service YouTube pay each time users see music videos.
YouTube has introduced schemes that allow artists to make money from advertising but many in the music business claim this will not go far enough.
Gema said it intends to appeal the opinion in the federal court.
Google before this week launched its new Gift card for YouTube video originators. The cards will help audiences directly give cash to non-profit organisations from YouTube itself.
The search giant included that it recently rolled out gift cards to US YouTube video originators. All originators must do would be to put in a gift card and decide on a non-profit organisation while.
Google says the non-profit organisation will receive 100 percent of the cash given via this process. The search giant also intends to make the brand new Gift card accessible to Youtube video originators outside the US area in future.
