VPN suppliers are endangering with DDOS attacks?

“Bitcoin is anonymous, nobody will understand you joined forces, the e-mail was said by ”.

Armada Collective is supposedly the group of hackers that targeted encrypted email service Protonmail its servers with traffic. and nabbed almost $6,000 from the Swiss firm after pummeling

It’s not clear if individuals endangering BlackVPN are the same group or only copycats. As with Anonymous, it’s virtually impossible when someone promises to be talking on behalf of the group to check. A report in December pointed out how these hacker groups are often copied.

The VPN supplier admitted a modest DDOS attack caused that on Saturday, April 16, disruptions to its network that it wasn’t prepared for. No intrusions were discovered, it included. The firm has said that since then, it’s been preparing to resist a potential strike, and it told customers they are not dangerous.

“The risk is simply against BlackVPN’s systems and assaulting our service is not going to endanger or jeopardize our customers ” it wrote, ’ secrecy or security.

The site post included that it was conscious of two other VPN suppliers that have received similar risks, but didn’t identify them.

We expect our foil will support other VPN services to speak up if they also have received a blackmail threat — and in the future, the firm was said by ”.

The VPN service Cloak received an extremely similar e-mail, additionally demanding 10 bitcoins around. The extortion effort was also denied by that firm and it will not seem to have suffered any major downtime since that time.

SCRYPTmail, another encrypted e-mail supplier, paid a ransom of 10.12 bitcoins this previous weekend when faced with the same risks from Armada Collective.

It’s not clear if Armada Collective is the same group that’s behind the dangers to SCRYPTmail, Cloak, and other VPNs. Based on BlackVPN, the group would just be successful in assaulting one service at a time.
