Stephen Fry claims deleting his Twitter account was a ‘substantial relief’?

Fry’s choice to issue a statement that called leaving the website a “huge relief” reaches the social networking platform at a time when its bundles are already fighting.
Having failed to get any new users in the last three months, Twitter use really fell in the conclusion of 2015 at one point, before picking up again at the beginning of the year.
Some eight per cent of the worldwide work force of the firm was additionally cut this past year, as well as a raft of new features have been introduced amid criticism the website doesn’t cope with abuse efficiently and lacks guidance.
Twitter’s success, maybe more than other social media platforms relies on leading individuals congregating on the service to talk about and share thoughts.
Yet his quip seemingly did not go down nicely with some social media users who berated him for his comment that is seemingly offensive. But the “indignation” was too much for Fry who tweeted a scathing reply before deleting his account.

Fry’s statement is an even larger setback as he was clearly one of the first leading UK users of the website, championing it to many. Business specialist Rik Henderson, senior news editor at technology website Pocket-lint.com, said Fry’s departure damages because of his visibility to the website.
“Stephen Fry feeling pressured to leave Twitter is similar to Colonel Sanders feeling compelled to leave Kentucky.
“For good or poor, it’s an important tool for regular individuals to vent their views freely, something Stephen Fry himself has championed for a long time, and occasionally those can be hurtful or cursing.
Mr Henderson added he believed Fry would go back to the website, something fellow technology specialist and Gadget magazine editor Jack Parsons agreed with.
“Fry has leave Twitter repeatedly through the years, including four months last year and for bout in 2014,” he said.
“He even threatened to leave after another user called his tweets dull manner back in 2009 when the social network was comparatively brand new, so I believe claims about Fry stopping Twitter — like Twitter perishing — have been considerably exaggerated.”
Nevertheless, Fry’s purpose reaches are believed by freelance technology writer Ian Morris at the primary issue of Twitter.
“This could not come at a worse time for Twitter actually,” he said. “New figures reveal the service has stalled somewhat and, while it is good-financed, without more increase it is going to become the following MySpace. What Fry signifies as a loss to Twitter is kind of a huge deal, another former winner of the service left it at a time when it needs cheerleaders to get individuals involved,” he said.
“Fry’s expostulation is specified, and clear. Nevertheless, you do not have to look far to see people being intimidated and mistreated on the service. A number of them are stars, and a number of them aren’t, but it occurs way too frequently, and Twitter just is not responding fast enough with new tools to help individuals flag up trouble accounts.”
