PayPal cuts off service to ‘Unblock-Us’ amid Netflix crack down on VPN suppliers

PayPal seems to be continuing its crack down on businesses that help Netflix spectators see TV shows and films in other states.

The business that is unblocking Unblock-Us, located in Barbados, said via Twitter the business isn’t accepting payments from PayPal.

Virtual private network (VPN) services enable users in Canada or alternative nations to stream Netflix content accessible America, which has a bigger collection of Hollywood hits and recent seasons of popular network shows in relation to the Canadian variant.

“The law understands there are valid motives behind [VPNs],” Thomas told Global News. “There’s no blanket prohibition on supplying VPN services or using them, but in copyright law there’s a prohibition on that which we call ‘circumventing technical protection measures’ or jumping the fence.”

Nevertheless, Thomas says the law as it’s written is quite extensive and has not been examined in court.
