Microsoft Edge Browser Gets Adblock and AdBlock Plus Extensions

Microsoft Edge users will eventually have the capacity to block advertisements while browsing the Web.

Shortly after, the firm had disclosed it’d construct ad blocking features into the browser, but later clarified that it’d support ad blocking characteristics via extensions. And here they’re.

Particularly, only users of Windows 10 Insider Preview construct 14332 can install Adblock Plus ad-blocking and the AdBlock extensions for Microsoft Edge.

The setup procedure is pretty straightforward. The extension must be activated for it to begin working after downloading it from the Windows Store. At the ending of the address bar showing the amount of advertisements which were blocked an elective button also pops up. It is suggested to restart the Edge browser to determine the extension is functioning correctly.

To remember, Microsoft Edge will develop extension support for the general people with the rollout of the Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade, which is anticipated to be released in July or June. At the Build 2016 convention, Microsoft had declared Edge may also get extensions from Reddit at launching, and services like Pinterest, Amazon, Evernote, LastPass.

Adblock Plus extensions and the AdBlock for Microsoft Edge seem to have feature parity with their counterparts on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. To notice, Eyeo makes Adblock Plus, while BetaFish makes AdBlock, and neither extension have now any relationship to each other. While AdBlock has over 40 million users around the world Adblock Plus promises to have seen over 300 million downloads. Besides Edge, Adblock Plus supports Android, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer, Yandex, and Maxthon browsers. In contrast, AdBlock just supports Chrome, Safari, and Opera browsers.
