Lenovo, Google declare first Project Tango smartphone

China’s Lenovo Group is prepared to break into mature markets this summer with all the launching of its own new smartphone which sports ‘augmented reality’ characteristics developed under Google’s Tango project, its chief executive said on Tuesday.
Declining to give added tips he said that the mobile will include much more and Google’s Project Tango technology.
Project Tango combines 3D motion tracking with depth sensors to give the capacity to know the way that it moves through a location and where it is to a cellular device, creating the possibility to use augmented reality attributes on the phone. The augmented reality software, then overlays images or text on the real-life picture.
The phone should foster Lenovo’s existence in mature markets such as North America, where the smartphone marketplace decreased marginally last year, by 0.4%, according to data from research company Canalys. “If you would like to access the mature markets you need two things: advanced products along with a premium brand,” Yuanqing said.
