Google Reveals It Paid the Guy Who Purchased Google.com

Ex-Googler Sanmay Ved bought the Google.com domain name for few minutes in October this past year and was afterwards rewarded by the search giant. At the time he didn’t mention the precise compensation quantity the search giant offered. Google lastly on Thursday mentioned Ved was rewarded by it. The organization also gave details on benefits it offered to others who discovered bugs for Google.

But when the firm found out that Ved’s not interested in taking the cash and also would rather see it go to charity, the sum doubled.

“You might have read about Sanmay Ved, a research worker from who managed to purchase google.com for one minute on Google Domains. Our first monetary benefit to Sanmay-$ 6,006.13-spelled-out Google, numerically (squint a little and you will see it!). To remember, Ved purchased Google.com for $12 (about Rs. 790) and held on to the domain name for several minutes, before Google realised what had occurred and cancelled the casual sale of the domain name, and Ved was refunded his $12.
