Google eventually ‘confesses’ Google Plus is a failure

Google has said that it’s restraining back on its vision of having profiles at its social network function as people’s identities across its variety of on-line offerings.

“Significant changes” coming to Google in the months ahead will contain users no longer wanting an account in the social network to post videos or opinions at YouTube.

“While we got specific things right, we made a number of selections that, in hindsight, we have needed to reconsider.”

Google started four years back as a social network which could provide users a single identity to utilize across the California-based web company’s popular online services.

“Folks have told us that getting all their Google information with a single account makes life a great deal simpler,” Horowitz said.

Google has been backing away from linking services to the social network.

Google lately transferred popular photo managing characteristics into another Google Photos programs for mobile devices, and said it’s setting place sharing into other programs like Hangouts “where it actually goes.”

Horowitz said Google will live on in a more concentrated type, with improvements including a “Groups” attribute for arranging places by theme.
