Free WiFi services will be providing by Google at-400 Indian railway stations : Sundar Pichai

“I am really proud to declare that it is the train stations of India that will help get millions of individuals online.

This means there are more Internet users in India than in every nation on the planet aside from China.

However, what is truly astounding is the reality that there are almost one billion people in India who aren’t offline, he noticed.

Pichai said Google would like to help get these next billion Indians online to allow them to get the whole internet and all its information and opportunity.

Dealing with Indian Railways, which runs one of the planet ‘s biggest railway networks, and RailTel, which supplies Internet services as RailWire via its extensive fiber network along a lot of these railway lines, Google’s Access & Energy team intends to bring the first stations online in the forthcoming months.

The network will expand rapidly to cover 100 of the busiest stations in India before the end of 2016, together with the remaining stations following in rapid succession, he declared.

Pichai said with only the first 100 stations on-line, this job is likely to make Wifi accessible for the more than ten million those who pass through daily.

“This will rate it as the biggest public Wifi job in India, and among the biggest on earth, by amount of likely future users,” he said.

“It’ll even be quickly — many times more rapid than what most folks in India have access to now, letting travelers to stream a high definition video while they are waiting, research their objective, or download some videos, a novel or a fresh game for the journey ahead,” the Google CEO said.

“Best of all, the service will soon be free to begin, with all the longterm aim of making it self-sustainable to allow for growth to more stations and other places, with RailTel and more associates, later on,” he said.

Google also released a map of India with public Wifi railway stations.

To help more Indians get access to affordable, high quality smartphones, that is the main way most folks there access the Internet, Android One was started by Google Pichai said.

“To help address the challenges of limited bandwidth, we recently found a characteristic that makes cellular telephone webpages load quicker and with less information, and we have made YouTube accessible offline with offline Maps coming shortly,” he said.

“And eventually, to help all Indians reap the advantages of connectivity, we have been ramping up efforts to help girls, who make up only a third of Internet users in India now, get the v the internet,” Pichai said.
