Facebook expects to kill the username and password

At its programmer summit that was F8, Facebook declared a fresh manner for program developers, Account Kit to let users sign up for services with an e-mail or phone number, no username or password needed.

Account Kit lets programmers drop in code which will accelerate the account-creation procedure. Users will receive a verification message via e-mail or SMS to get set up.

If it seems a lot like Digits — that is part of Twitter’s Material development platform — that’s because it’s.

And although we’re certain Facebook would prefer that users sign up for a program with a Facebook account (program programmers would likely prefer that also), solving the issue of user signups is significant. And if Account Kit can help with that, it means more developers are using Facebook’s programmer tools and platforms.
