Facebook expects to kill the username and password

At its programmer summit that was F8, Facebook declared a fresh manner for program developers, Account Kit to let users sign up for services with an e-mail or phone number, no username or password needed.

Account Kit lets programmers drop in code which will accelerate the account-creation procedure. Users will receive a verification message via e-mail or SMS to get set up.
