20 Years After, Windows 95 Start Brings Tears of Nostalgia – and Hilarity

Twenty years ago Bill Gates formally released Windows 95, ushering in a fresh age. A graphical user interface was featured by the operating system, together with multitasking support and a task bar, plus it introduced the now-iconic Start button to start programs. Those Windows 95 characteristics made using a PC a good deal simpler.

Including having comic Jay Leno share the stage with Gates, Microsoft pulled out all stops. The business paid big bucks to make use of The Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up” for the ad campaign, also.

Customers lined up to get a duplicate of the new OS as when they were waiting for real Rolling Stones concert tickets. Some 7 million copies were sold by Microsoft in only five weeks.

Microsoft has released Windows 10, also it can indicate another turning point for the PC.

“Now many consumers are beginning to evaluate whether they should upgrade and transform what they already have running their computers,” she told TechNewsWorld. “What many have functions well enough for them, and to a certain level there is plenty of consumer exhaustion.”
