Network connections between broadband suppliers, like Internet backbone providers, and Comcast, including Level 3 have not been contained in Net neutrality regulation. Netflix accused broadband suppliers including Comcast and Verizon of intentionally slowing down their service at so called “interconnection” points so they are able to negotiate better deals.

Wheeler has not said whether such deals will be addressed by the forthcoming regulations, but has suggested it could. “You’ll discover it grand and using each of the tools in the tool chest.”

The FCC is composing the new rules with the anticipation that broadband suppliers will sue, Wheeler included. Really, the broadband sector has already indicated they’ll unite to challenge any new rules that alter the categorization of broadband services.

In the face of these brand new regulations, the broadband suppliers are most likely wishing they could return to 2010.
