Zuckerberg intends by using drones to deliver Internet to the 3rd world
Mark Zuckerberg is becoming serious about his vision to join with the remaining portion of the entire world.
Social media giant Facebook is looking to employ a lawyer experienced in dealing with all the Federal Communications Commission as a portion of a strategy to deliver fundamental Internet service to poor, less developed nations, The Post has learned.
Zuckerberg has said openly his aim is to supply Internet access to more than 4 billion those who lack it. One chance: using solar-powered laser technology and drones to disjunct regions to broadcast Internet signals.
It’d need FCC approval to get that idea off the earth, a source said.
The brand new hire would be someone “who’ll do the real work” of getting FCC permits, the source said.
Facebook has said it will not mean to run the network; instead, it needs to improve the technology to the stage it becomes feasible for other operators to deploy it.
Google is working on a similar endeavor to supply worldwide Internet access, called Loon.
