In spite of this leak, TechCrunch reports that Spotify is refusing any larceny of user records or a hack. For its part, Spotify has refused that its own security has been violated. “Spotify hasn’t been hacked and our user records are protected. Pastebin and other websites are monitored by us often. When we locate Spotify qualifications, we check they are bona fide, and we promptly notify affected users to alter their passwords if they’re,” said the firm in a statement.

On the other hand, the account details leaked are quite special to Spotify, including advice like subscription renewals and account type. The intrusion was confirmed by the users. Additionally, there are criticisms that Spotify was slow to alert them to the fact which their accounts were undermined.

A number of users reported that their accounts had been stolen, and their e-mail addresses were swapped with another one. Users have been contacting Spotify support to regain passwords and accounts.

The significant point is a violation at another online service, rather than Spotify itself or whether the details were hacked from the users. It’s likely the present leak could be linked to a preceding information violation as noted by TechCrunch.
