Plusnet’s users are facing DNS issues

Plusnet users endure outages due to DNS issues

Plusnet users have been experiencing intermittent service outages due to a DNS malfunction in the HQ of the internet service provider, making them unable to get sites from their broadband connection.

Users nominally on the net are left by the outage, but unable to solve URLs to web pages that are functioning. A short term fix, for users who will access the web through another means, is to change their DNS server to Google Public DNS, following the firm’s own directions.

The problem in the center of the malfunction is the domain name system. “Since early this morning we have experienced an outage which changed our telephone and broadband service along with our web site. Have made lots of improvement with the majority of our customers up and running and we have worked through the night to solve this. Yet we still have a couple problems which we are working to solve as soon as possible.

The business’s services were restored on Thursday afternoon, as well as the business included: “All our services are now completely restored, including the Plusnet site. Thank you for your patience, we are truly sorry this has occurred and wish to apologize for the interruption you have experienced.”
