PIRACY NOTICES BOOST DEMAND FOR ANONYMOUS VPNS IN CANADA
Data from Google shows a substantial upsurge in searches for VPNs over the last two weeks, while VPN suppliers see a surge in sales and traffic.
Because of this, tens of a large number of Internet subscribers have received warnings in their own mail boxes over the previous days, with some asking for cash resolutions.
The socalled noticeandnotice system intends to lessen piracy rates that were local, but it seems that not all Canadians are willing to give up their customs.
Many file sharers are taking measures to conceal their IP addresses and avoid the tracking firms copyright holders have hired. Using BitTorrent proxies or VPN services can their sharing tasks linked to their ISP account, efficiently evading the notice system.
This effect, revealed in the graph below, is restricted to Canada and probably a direct consequence of the brand new law.
