Netflix to stream Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Canada — and nowhere else
After what looks like light years of griping about the reality that Netflix users get more (and occasionally better) names in the U.S., Canadians will shortly have exclusive access to something our American buddies might really install a VPN for Star Wars The Force Awakens.
A representative from Netflix supported to CBC News on Sunday that Canada is its only territory in which flowing rights for the hotly-anticipated approaching Star Wars movie was secured.
Movies with theatrical introductions in 2015 fall under the present outcome deal with American premium cable channel Starz of Disney.
Canada, on the other hand, boasts a somewhat different scenario.
“Fortuitously for Netflix Canada subs, the business’s deal with Disney began with 2015 launches subsequent to the last arrangements for the pay-TV window with Corus Entertainment and Bell Canada expired,” Assortment describes. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens is slated to arrive at the service in the state; under the conditions of the deal, that can happen about eight months subsequent to the film leaves theaters.”
