Linux Foundation Needs to Pin a Badge on Protected Open Source Software
The free Badge Program was declared by CII at LinuxCon/CloudOpen North America.
A job of the Linux Foundation, the CII, empowers software developers and technology businesses, business stakeholders to collaborate on financing and the identification of vital open source projects in need of help.
The very first stage of the badge plan seeks input from the open source community on standards to determine stability, quality and the protection of open source software.
This flushing-out phase includes speaking to developers and project maintainers, said VP of developer software at the Linux Foundation, Amanda McPherson.
