Google uncovered a major bug in this antivirus software’s password manager
When it comes to hackers stealing your own personal info and getting your computers, you can breathe simple, right? In case you have got an antivirus software installed in your personal computer, you are not dangerous.
Or you believed. As it happens, not all antivirus software are not vulnerable to attack. Actually, a leading susceptibility was merely open by a Google security specialist on a widely used antivirus software.
The problem included the discretionary password manager, which lets its users specialist passwords to its application of Trend Micro.
He encouraged Trend Micro to employ an external consultancy to review its antivirus’ coding.
Trend Micro says it’s issued a patch for this particular defect. “As portion of our regular susceptibility reaction procedure, we worked with [this cybersecurity pro] to recognize and address the susceptibility,” wrote a Trend Micro executive. “Customers are currently getting protections through automatic updates.”
