Facebook Inc said on Wednesday it found its news program Notify for iPhone users in America, featuring content from media associates including Fox News, Washington Post and CBS.

The program enables user to share tellings straight from the lock display and carries a wide choice of “stations” across distinct groups like sports, fashion and breaking news.

The organization ‘s program competes with Twitter Inc’s  recently established service called Minutes, which aims to provide a better method of curating and aggregating news content for users and help them follow live events.

Facebook had earlier tied up with nine news publishers to establish “Immediate Posts”, which releases their content directly to the social network’s cellular news feeds.
