Facebook News Feed to Reveal More Posts You Need to Read

Facebook keeps shifting its News Feed algorithm in an attempt to enhance the browsing experience of users when posts appear on their timelines. The most recent change to the News Feed algorithm plans to prioritise the posts an user really reads.

The new algorithm will continue over the forthcoming weeks and has began rolling this to users globally.

“Building on this work, we are learning the time people choose to spend reading or viewing content they clicked on from News Feed is an important sign the storyline was intriguing to them.

The new change then spend time and may also take into account an user will be to click on an article.

We’ll also be looking at the time spent within a threshold so as not to unintentionally address longer posts preferentially,” included the firm.

Facebook says the most recent News Feed algorithm will help it understand which posts are more interesting to users based by how long they read them. This will help more storylines an user is interested in reading to be shown by Facebook. With the enactment of the new algorithm, the firm says some pages may see a modest increase in referral traffic while modest decreases might be seen by some Pages.

“This change only variable in the time individuals spend reading an article regardless of whether that time is spent reading an Immediate Post or an article in the mobile Web browser,” it includes.

In February, Facebook were likely to participate with and tweaked the News Feed to have more reports that were likely to be rated high by the user.
