Facebook needs to get inside your brain?
If the capability to realise his visions of Mark Zuckerberg continues unabated, we will be communicating via ESP.

In the last decade, Facebook has ceased to be merely a “social network”, adding and honing a neverending array of attributes to make itself indispensable to users.

Its fast-growing Groups attribute, released as a standalone program this past year, continues to encroach on the conventional turf of competitors like eBay or Gumtree, as individuals look for housemates or purchase, swap and sell through their present social groups, favouring the security of their personal networks.
An electronic payments attribute is being rolled out to users of Facebook’s Messenger program in America as you read.
And it is forging ahead with news aggregation in a big way, lately declaring a characteristic that can see Facebook host content on the program right from other news sites, Immediate Posts.
It’s investing in hardware, also, together with the acquisition of Oculus, a maker of real dreams … good, virtual reality.
It is not that Zuckerberg is not interest; there must be more than foosball tables at Facebook HQ to keep him occupied of a day. And, obviously, he’s all the buddies he could wish for.
That means failure reinvention, experimenting and, necessarily.
Probably the most striking of Facebook’s reinventions is its internet.org initiative: an ambitious project which intends to bring a free, limited variant of the world wide web to the entire world within the following ten years.
Never mind food or clean drinking water; drones Facebook’s satellites and lasers will shortly be airing the internet to the folks of the 3rd world, altering their lives.
It is a legend ploy that develops on the unbelievable social capital of Facebook, in the altruistic sense: the advantages of connectivity for economic growth are difficult to blow off. But along with connectivity, the job will even be bringing the folks Facebook. It is a guaranteed method to pursue more customers.
Alongside internet.org, Zuckerberg has emphasized artificial intelligence and virtual reality as vital future topics for the organization.
Incrementally, this promotion has lost its creepiness and we’ve come to accept it as a regular element of the user experience, a crucial trade off of attributes for the ever-growing stable we are offered by Facebook.
If is not impossible, by the time we get there, that trade off could mean something quite different: a completely new means for advertisers to talk to us.
