Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has contributed USD 31 million to charity in Facebook stock, days after her manager Mark Zuckerberg vowed to give away 99 per cent of his business shares.
The shares are in the Sheryl Sandberg Philanthropy Fund, a donor-advised fund. A lot of the cash will go to causes that Ms. Sandberg has supported in the past. She’s additionally granted to women’s empowerment groups, including Incline In,to help support women at work, SiliconValley.com reported today.
Ms. Sandberg also intends to give to anti-poverty efforts and educational groups. She’s the cochair of the Stand Up for Children Effort for Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties.
In 2014, Ms. Sandberg signed The Giving Pledge, the obligation by wealthy people to give the bulk of their wealth to philanthropy in their life, the report said.
