Chrome blocks access to websites that are torrent
Chrome users who download torrents might be thinking about changing to another browser. Google’s web browser is blocking access to several big name torrent websites.
Upon trying to see with an affected website, would be torrenters are greeted by a red, full screen security warning that informs of the possible risk of the website in question.
Chrome users began to find that their favourite websites were no longer reachable as reported by TorrentFreak. ExtraTorrent found that something had been wrongly labelled by Google as malware, and the block was lifted after contacting the firm. But for kar.cr visitors and users of another torrent websites, accessibility isn’t ensured.
The choice to do so is somewhat obfuscated while it’s possible to click through and disregard the warning. An alternative would be to disable Chrome’s built in malware protection.
Google hasn’t said that torrent websites are being especially targeted by it at the minute, and it appears that the blocks are only part of an ongoing security plan. It does, nevertheless, appears the blocks are infectious. TorrentFreak reports that some Firefox users are currently complaining of similar difficulties getting to torrent websites that are specific.
