Advertisement-free social network Ello goes public
Ello, the advertising-free social network which gained prominence last year with an invitation only start, has declared that it’s opening to the people with an application for users that were iPhone.
The startup got focus with its ‘anti-Facebook’ policy of swearing to sell customer information to third parties or to never use marketing.
Last September, Ello membership was made a popular ticket by an upsurge in interest, with invitations selling on eBay at costs up to $500.
“The new program is amazing with tons of exceptional characteristics,” said Ello cofounder and chief executive Paul Budnitz.
Ello has updated the service to contain new methods to locate buddies, complete search, real time alarms, private messaging, private groups and “adores” instead of enjoys.
Its future plans include superior attributes which will be paid while the services is free.
Ello was started by a group of programmers and artists headed by Budnitz, whose previous experience includes designing toys and bikes.
