UK businesses turn to ex-hackers for security expertise
Nearly half of UK companies consider their ability to embrace data-driven is impacting security, a study has shown.
The survey also shown that while 80% of organisations are reacting to events in house, just 8% believe they’re equipped to make contextual risk brains.
To handle this problem, two thirds (61%) of companies consider outsourced abilities will be needed.
Other notable variables preventing organisations from embracing a data driven strategy comprise too little time and resource (67%) and c-level buy in (25%).
Just 14% of respondents were executing data driven strategies within their organisations, and none believed they did’t have a demand for it.
CEO at SecureData, Etienne Greeff, said it’s little wonder companies are contemplating ex-hackers for inhouse security functions.
The IT security skills dearth is’t a fresh discussion,” he said but it’s now reached a stage where it’s essential for companies to think like the bad guys to remain one step ahead.
In a world where every company is a company that is digital and no industry is safe from cyber attacks, it’s unsurprising that everybody is pursuing the enormous advantages of security that is smarter.
