Google Penetrated China’s Firewall for 102 Minutes

After parting ways with The People’s Republic Of China several years back, Google found their services replaced by local components like WeChat and Baidu as their market share grew internationally, for the large part. Their services are largely blocked by China’s Golden Shield Project, also called the Great Firewall although they recently started an initiative to get back in the great graces of the very populous country on earth. This meant that, for just over an hour along with a half, everybody in China managed to get Google.

The Great Firewall has had occasional hiccups before, with Twitter and Facebook falling through sometimes. On this particular occasion, needless to say, just Google was not inaccessible, since just Google added new IP addresses to their server list. Particularly, though their other services stayed blocked the Great Firewall did not catch new IP addresses for Google’s search service. For a short interval, a number of the people really believed that Google had been unblocked.

China has made their position on United States-based web services clear, retaining their citizens from getting a great many popular services that came from the States. The system isn’t totally perfect, even though the Great Firewall is a leading determinant in the virtual lives of all Chinese citizens. Google’s short return to the People’s Republic of China, is unlikely to result in any major changes finally, did not mean much and, like previous glitches in the Great Firewall.
