ISIS Risk to Koreans Tracked to Kuwaiti IP Address
A danger to the lives of some 20 seemingly haphazard Koreans by ISIS or the terror group Islamic State has been tracked to a Kuwaiti IP address.
ISIS hackers got the computer network of a news website here and recovered the private information of the 20, which it subsequently printed on YouTube jointly with a call to followers to “kill them wherever you find them.”
Seoul authorities said researchers examined the logs of the server from which the information was stolen and found that the hackers used an IP address in Kuwait.
Authorities aren’t ruling out that the hackers are enlisting the aid of international law enforcement agencies to research the source farther and rerouted their IP address.
