Netflix seems to have blocked unblockers and all VPNs from its service, leaving no simple solution to get content to people from various other states.

It appeared to have businesses and little success but the website now seems to have blocked everyone who’s using a VPN to get access.

VPNs are not only used to spoof the address of a computer so that it looks like it’s in a different state, yet. In addition they allow for increased security, which is not insignificant since Netflix does not use a type of encryption that’s meant to keep connections safe.

After it pointed out the website seemed to have blocked the usage of VPNs, a Reddit thread got tremendous popularity over the weekend.

The website has consistently formally outlawed the usage of VPNs and unblockers. But it’s increasingly applied that prohibition, in a move that some say is due to pressure from permit holders.
