In today’s threat environment, protecting information assets and servers in data centers is essential. Security–both cyber and physical — redesigned and were evaluated, and new systems were set in place to raise the security posture in this region of the section.
IT operations are an important facet of organizational operations all over the world and at DWSD. DWSD’s operations could be impaired if a system becomes unavailable. It was essential to supply a dependable infrastructure for IT operations to minimize any possibility of dislocation. This data center upgrade needed to provide a safe environment, minimizing the possibility of a violation as information security proved to be a major issue.
The aim of the job was to update the data centers of DWSD to industry standards for operational sustainability and uptime, improved reliability, and supportability. DWSD manages two data centers: a main facility found along with a backup facility at another place. The contracted work was performed to stick to present Homeland Security policies for critical infrastructure, including cooling system for essential data centers and approved environmental systems. As an effect of the increased demand for information, computers and phones, the section needed to produce a safe, dependable and accessible communications infrastructure to its assignment. The preceding states of these data centers made them hard to maintain, enhance and troubleshoot; redundancy was not maximal for essential programs. The general objective was to produce a safer, cleaner and much more data center environment that is organized that DWSD service and could keep facility, the equipment and users in a more cost effective way. The result enables DWSD staff to work more economically during changes, additions and future moves, reducing downtime. Other advantages of the job comprised making DWSD data centers compliant with Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) conditions, greater energy efficiency as well as the basis of a system which could support future growth at lower prices.
