Ced Kurtz’s Techman:Unleashing an IP address upgrade
An IP address is an expression in amounts of a URL. (post-gazette.com., as an example.) These addresses are assigned in blocks and, even though some holders never have used up their blocks, there are address blocks that were free to give out.
Why are all these addresses wanted? Due to the arrival of the Internet of Things, where in the future virtually any household appliance or another thing that is common is going to have Web address. It’s possible for you to imagine that number as 252 addresses for each star in the known universe.
Many Internet providers are prepared for the change, but it’s going to take some time . IPv4 addresses will no longer be wanted once that occurs. The typical Net user should find no disruption of service during the switchover. And with IPv6, running out of addresses is not likely.
