Microsoft Exec Says Google Does Not Understand Business Web Programs
Google’s yearly I/O programmer convention is next week, plus it typically contains a number of sessions on how businesses are dumping Microsoft Office in favor of Google Apps For Company, its package of subscription-based Web productivity programs.
So Microsoft is once more boasting about the way that it understands business customers far better than Google does.
On Wednesday, Michael Atalla, manager of product marketing for Office 365, Microsoft’s cloud established programs package, told TechCrunch his institution’s business backdrop gives it the “most comprehensive vision of productivity” of any seller out there.
Atalla described Google Apps as predominantly browser-based and consumer-centered. Microsoft, on the flip side, “profoundly recognizes that companies need abilities that go beyond consumer needs,” Atalla told Techcrunch.
Microsoft Office is the dominant onpremise productivity applications in businesses, but the image around Office 365 is more murky.
Microsoft also said that 25 percent of its own business clients are utilizing it and Office 365 subscriptions are growing.
Nevertheless, Microsoft is not saying just how many Office 365 users it’s.
One I/O session, titled “Introducing a Brand New Means to Manage Companies on Google”, will emphasize how Google is helping business admins and programmers build programs more readily.
Another, titled “Our Maps, Your Company: A Detailed Guide to Taking Advantage of Our Enterprise Products”, covers Google’s business products as well as the way they use location based services.
