Mark Zuckerberg gave the world its first look at a laser communications system being developed by the Connectivity Lab of Facebook as a means to instantly broadcast information into communities.

“This will drastically boost the rate of sending information over long distances,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on his Facebook wall.

While a network of lasers could help economically broadcast advice over long distances, Zuckerberg said the columns seen in the pictures he shared generally wouldn’t be observable and are only for show.

In March, he disclosed Facebook had finished its first evaluation of an unmanned aircraft that may be utilized to bring Internet connectivity to the distant portions of the planet.

It is anticipated the final layout will make a plane together with the wingspan of a Boeing 737 but lighter when compared to a car.
