Twitter Inc has invested about $70 million.The investment was supported by twitter, but didn’t provide any financial details.

A platform that empowers individuals to upload and share music and other audio files, SoundCloud, additionally affirmed that the investment had been made by Twitter.

Twitter’s investment was part of a financing round anticipated to be the Re/code report said.

The microblogging website has previously tried to make a foray into music with the start of Twitter Music in 2013, which was closed a year after. At the time, the firm said that it’d try to find new means to bring music established content to the service.
