Microsoft is believed to possess released a special version of Windows 10 in China. Dubbed Windows 10 Zhuangongban, or “Windows 10 Especially-supplied Variation,” the version boasts of fewer consumer-centric characteristics when compared to Windows 10 House, but offers added security measures as mandated by the Chinese government.

The Caixin report mentions Microsoft China’s CEO, Ralph Haupter, to say the Windows 10 Especially-supplied Edition offers fewer of consumer-centric attributes but comes with security and control controls in compliance with the directions of the authorities in China.

China is among the more important marketplaces for Microsoft, but, the local government has gotten more and more concerned with Western businesses in the light of disclosures made by whistleblower Edward Snowden. In 2014, China authorities declared that it was prohibiting Windows 8 from the government offices as portion of a notice on using energy-saving products.
