Internet giant Google is working at a spaceport in New Mexico to construct and test solar-powered web drones. In line with the Guardian, job is codenamed as SkyBender.

Drones are being used by job SkyBender to experiment with millimetre-wave radio transmissions, and this technology could underpin next generation 5G wireless internet access.

The SkyBender is part of Google’s air balloon Wifi endeavor aimed at a similar target of bringing distant portions of the world online.

The move is an effort by the Google to compete with other social media giants like Social Media Giant Facebook to bring internet access to developing countries.
