Google starts security attribute for Chrome web browser

Google Inc on Wednesday declared a free expansion for its Chrome web browser that protects Google accounts, including email, against on-line attackers attempting to steal passwords and other personal info.

The extension, called Password Alert, may be downloaded on Google Chrome and warns users until they enter account info on “phishing” pages, or replica websites made to steal passwords and access private info, like e-mails or on-line bank accounts.

Millions of phishing emails and sites are sent daily, Google said.

“We expect users to understand the difference between these websites, and that is an unreasonable request to make of users.”

The brand new expansion, which took to create, is an add-on to Google’s other security measures, including safe browsing technology that warns users against verification instruments that help shield private accounts and possibly malicious websites.
