Social media giant Facebook is its ‘actual name’ policy. The policy, that has been termed ‘fundamentally discriminatory’ by some, will find some alterations to permit users to describe their name options. Criticism has been received by the policy largely from members of supporters and the LGBT communities who feel uneasy using their actual names because of the character of their work and confront difficulties.
Based on Facebook’s ‘real name’ policy, users should go by their ‘bona fide name’ when on the social network instead of a pseudonyms. These changes will help those who face this issue supply clearer context to their wishes to keep a name that is different.
Describing the changes as well as the reason for the policy, Alex Schultz, VP, increase Facebook, said in a letter, “we would like to minimize the amount of those who are requested to confirm their name on Facebook, when they’re already utilizing the name folks understand them by.
