Dark Internet markets Have Been leaking their Actual IP addresses

Newly-cropped upward dark internet markets, run by inexperienced cybercriminals, have allegedly been leaking their websites’ actual IP addresses.

Since the historical take from AlphaBay and Hansa — among the most obvious dark net marketplaces — dark net communities are thought to have been devolving. Security experts consider that as bigger shadowy web markets have been closed down, some black net vendors might have been made to sell their products that were prohibited by opening up their own niches.

“Much like drug cartels, as soon as you eliminate 1 hazard forum or celebrity, competitions will instantly take its position,” Andrei Barysevich, director at security company Recorded Future, recently published in a website. Nonetheless, in this event, it seems that the new dark net markets substituting the more recognized ones are conducted by cybercriminals with limited coding abilities.

On Thursday, 16 November, the research workers whined about discovering a Dutch dark net market selling cannabis referred to as “ElHerbolario”. The researcher allegedly tracked the dark website to 2 Dutch IP addresses, which have been being hosted with a famous Ukrainian-based bulletproof hosting company BlazingFast.

The researcher allegedly discovered that the IP led to some hosting company in Moldova, which he reported to the government.

The researcher discovered yet another dark net drugs marketplace referred to as “DrugStore from Stoned100”, which offered many different illegal products, such as amphetamine, ecstasy, hash, MDMA, sildenafil, marijuana, and sometimes even ransomware.

It seems that human error is causing these leaks. “It’s the administrator’s error that the IP is leaking,” Sh1ttyKids advised Bleeping Computer.

The researcher’s job indicates that the dark web infrastructure might be more vulnerable now than previously. Even though the current closures of notable dark net markets might have resulted in multiple newer markets gearing up, these markets might actually be a lot easier to take down by law enforcement officials.
