AT&T Teams Up with Intel to Analyze Drones on LTE Network, Partners with Porsche on Connected Auto

Shares of AT&T were inching higher Monday morning following the firm said it teamed up with Intel (INTC) to examine how drones work on a network designed to link devices on the earth. Both firms will demo an LTE- drone that is linked in a dedicated space in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Individually, AT&T said it secured a multi-year deal with German sports car manufacturer Porsche to supply wireless connectivity via AT&T’s 4G LTE network in several model year 2017 Macan, Boxster and 911 models. T shares were moving nearer to the very best end of the 52-week range of $30.97 to $37.12.

The stock is up 0.57% or $0.21 after the news, reaching $36.79 per share. AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has increased 4.01% since July 16, 2015 and is uptrending. It’s outperformed by 13.73% the S&P500.

AT&T Inc. supplies telecommunications and digital entertainment services. The organization operates through four segments: Consumer Mobility, Entertainment Group, Business Solutions, and International. The Business Solutions section offers wireless, fixed tactical, legacy voice and data, and wireless gear services to governmental, business, and wholesale customers, in addition to individual subscribers.

The Consumer Mobility section offers customers wireless services, and wireless resale and wholesale subscribers, including long distance and roaming services. This section supplies postpaid and prepaid wireless voice and data communications services; consulting, marketing, and program and colocation services; and sells various handsets, wirelessly enabled computers, and personal computer wireless data cards through company-owned shops, representatives, or third party retail stores, along with accessories, including carrying cases and handsfree apparatus. The Global section offers video entertainment services to wireless data and voice communication services, along with residential customers in Latin America in Mexico. The organization was previously called SBC Communications Inc. and changed its name to AT&T Inc. in November 2005.
